Program Description
This
symposium focuses on optimizing lipid injectable emulsions in parenteral
nutrition throughout the continuum of hospital through home care. Cases will
provide the latest practical approaches to providing care in neonates and adult
hospital and home care patients. Compatibility, intestinal failure–associated
liver disease, filtration, managing transitions of care, pediatric
considerations, and shortages are some of the topics that will be covered.
Learning Objectives
After
completing this activity, participants will be better able to:
Describe the dosing of various lipid injectable emulsions to
prevent essential fatty acid deficiency in adult and pediatric patients
Demonstrate appropriate use of lipid injectable emulsions in
hospital and home adult patients
Demonstrate appropriate use of lipid injectable emulsions in
pediatric/neonatal patients at risk for intestinal failure–associated liver
disease
